In 1931 Byron B. Downard founded Downard Funeral Home and began serving the people of Pocatello and Bannock County Idaho. Grateful for the public acceptance of our efforts wewill continue toadhere to the principles of honesty, respect, integrity, commitment, accountability and sincere service which have characterized this firm since the day we conducted our first funeral in June of 1931.
Lance & Diane Peck
Lance R. Peck was born December 15, 1974 in Pocatello, Idaho and was raised in Grace, Idaho. He graduated from Grace High School in 1993. He attended Idaho State University before transferring to Mount Hood Community College where he received his degree in Mortuary Science. He passed the National Board Examination in 1999. Later that year, he passed the Idaho State Board Exam and became a licensed mortician.He enjoys meeting people and serving in the community. Lance serves on the Bannock Board of Guardians as a volunteer and enjoyes his association with fellow members of the Sunrise Lions Club. Lance married Diane Prolo October 10, 1997 in Logan, Utah. Dianewas born March 6, 1973 in San Jose, California. She graduated from Gunderson High School and from there attended Ricks College in Rexburg and later Idaho State University. She graduated from Idaho State University in Health Education in 1997. She not only works as the After Care Coordinater and Secretary for the funeral home but also works with the Intermountain Organ andTissue Donor Services as a public educator, and is a member of the AmericanBusiness Women's Association, the PocatelloRotary Club, Sunrise Lions Club,Jefferson PTO,Friends of the Cemetery Committe and serves on the Board of Directors for Old Town Pocatello. Lance and Diane have two children, Andrea and Logan. The Pecks purchased Downard Funeral Home in September of 2007 after working forDavid and Maureen Hansensince 1996. Lance and Diane both look forward to continuing the legacy of the prior owners of Downard Funeral Home by serving the community and the family for generations.
