After obtaining a civil engineering degree from BYU, he attended the University of Idaho Law School. During the summer breaks, he did externships with the Bonneville County Prosecutors Office in Idaho Falls, ID and the United States Attorneys Office in Boise, ID. Following law school, he clerked for District Judge Darla Williamson in Ada County, ID. The last 3 years have been spent as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the Bonneville County Prosecutors Office in Idaho Falls, ID.
