Bertrams Salmon Valley Brewery, like the town from which it derives its name, is situated in the heart of the beautiful northwestern Rocky Mountains on the River-of-No-Return. Salmon is the portal to the largest wilderness area in the contiguous United States, the Frank Church Wilderness.
Once the center of an active mining, logging and ranching community Salmon has probably been the Wests best-kept secret. However, following the centennial of the Lewis and Clark expedition, this haven for recreationists is fast becoming a popular tourist destination.
Twenty years ago Nick and Helen Bertram stumbled upon this hidden gem and fell in love. Its unspoiled physical beauty and the warmth of the local people offered a welcome refuge from crowded city life and the tensions of civil war in Southern Africa.

Spend the day carving the powdered slopes of Lost Trail Ski Resort
Explore the surrounding mountains on horseback, snowmobiles or cross-country skis; or soak away city woes in one of the many hot springs in the area.
Experience the adrenaline rush of Class IV rapids on the Main or Middle Fork of the Salmon River or troll its banks for record-breaking steelhead trout.
Fly fish in pristine mountain lakes, hike wilderness trails where you can be guaranteed of never seeing another soul, or hunt the deer, elk, mountain goat, or Bighorn sheep with which the area abounds.

However you choose to spend your vacation we hope youll take the time to visit us here at Bertrams Brewery and Restaurant. Our aim is to provide you and your family with a quality experience. Take some time to chat to Nick about the brewing process; sample some of the eight quality beers he produces on site; stave off the munchies with pub grub or appetizers from the large selection on the menu and relax while enjoying true western hospitality. Or, settle back with a book from our Book Crossing Corner, a glass of good wine and a feast of mussels, Brie and crackers or sushi. And if you simply cannot leave the office behind, bring the laptop; we are a Wi-Fi Hotspot.
