In 1979, we started to farm in Nampa, Idaho. For over 30 years we have farmed row crops under the name RMF Farms, which stands for Robert McKellip Family Farms. We have enjoyed raising our two children on our farm. Through the years our crops have been sugar beets, peppermint, spearmint, seed corn, beans, and wheat. We even threw in some Colorado spruce trees. I guess that is where the family came into the name. The kids were 9 and 5, when we started planting them. Well the kids have grown and moved out, some of the trees are still growing and ready to sell, and others were sold as much smaller trees. In 2001, we decided to add another crop, sod. It is a little different than row crop, however they compliment each other. It has been fun working with more of the public, and growing the beautiful sod fields. We farm around 1200 acres; about 250 of these acres are sod.
We would also like to invite you to come out to the sod fields and check them out. What a better way of selling are goods, but for you to see it with your own eyes.
