The business was organized as a sole proprietorship April 21, 1947 and incorporated as Walker Water Systems April 17, 1976. It is an outgrowth of Eugene W. Walker’s 47 years of drilling experience in Nevada, California and in the Magic and Wood River Valleys of southern Idaho. Mr. Walker’s expertise in domestic, artesian, geothermal, irrigation, municipal and subdivision drilling, as well as pump installation and service, is unparalleled in our service area. In recent years we have expanded our scope to include environmental drilling for the monitoring of hazardous materials. The founder’s motto: “Water, Idaho’s most valuable resource: develop, conserve, protect” is even timelier today and continues to guide the conduct of the company. His daughter, Cynthia Koffer serves as corporate Vice President and Office Manager. She is involved with accounts payable and receivable, payroll, insurance and records. Gene’s son, Fred Walker, acts as Corporate and Operations Manager. His responsibilities include drill operation, environmental projects, maintenance, large project bidding and well repairs. Mark Koffer, Manager Sales and Service, is responsible for bids and proposals, customer relations, crew and project scheduling and safety.
Walker Water Systems, Inc. holds Idaho Public Works License #6133—AAA—1—3-4(9), Nevada Contractor’s License # 002994, Idaho Well Drilling License #15 and an Idaho Electrical Contractor’s Specialty License as well as memberships in national and state industry organizations. Our customers can be assured that the work we do for them will be completed to the best of our ability and in accordance with state regulations.
Our constant aim is to provide an excellent quality product for our customers whatever the project. Our employees receive continuous training to keep them up to date in the industry. Most employees have received 40—hour “Hazardous Materials Operations Training” as well as refresher courses pursuant to 29CFR 1910(e) (8) of the OSHA regulations. Employees involved in the installation and repair of pumps attend school and seminars for those products. Employees are cross-trained to better enable them to be familiar with all phases of the operation and to be able to step in and do whatever is necessary to complete the project.
