About Brett McCarty
"The true cost of a well is never based on the price per foot, but on the total cost after clean and drinkable water has been developed from the well, divided by the many years of trouble-free pumping that is to be enjoyed," says Brett McCarty, owner of McCarty Drilling & Pump Inc.
Mr. McCarty became involved with the water well industry in 1990, bringing 15 years of self-employed business experience with him. McCarty owns and operates two drilling rigs: a modern cable tool drill and a large air rotary rig, as well as one pump truck. He has two full-time employees. The company engages generally in private water well construction with wells ranging from 50' to 600' in depth, in a diverse array of geologic formations. McCarty Drilling & Pump Inc. is an Award Dealer for Sta-Rite pumps and takes great pride in building quality water systems for its customers, relying heavily on American-made products.
McCarty has written and published articles in Water Well Journal and has taught classes at the 1996 National Ground Water Association 's annual convention in Las Vegas. He currently holds Specialty Electrical and Specialty Plumbing Contractor's licenses in the state of Idaho, and has taught classes for continuing education credit on Idaho electrical codes. McCarty is current Vice-President of the Idaho Ground Water Association .
He is currently serving on NGWA Contractor's Board of Directors, is on the Government Affairs Committee as a member of the Rural Water Subcommittee and also as Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee. He has been involved with the Washington Legislative Fly-in the past two years and has been active in communicating with legislators on the needs of the water well drilling industry. He participated in the NGWA 2001 State Affiliate Executive Leadership Conference in Washington D.C.
McCarty says, "I became involved with NGWA for two reasons: to be associated with an organization with national recognition, and to interact with contractors across the nation to share ideas and experiences, and then to carry that recognition one step further with the ability to be nationally certified."
McCarty is currently working to achieve certification as a Master Ground Water Contractor. He is a man in the forefront of his industry, combining an old-fashioned, hard-work ethic with the skill and technology required to provide his customers with excellent service. He thinks on his feet and has put that ability to much use for the benefit of his customers. His presence in this industry has not only set a new standard for professionalism in business practices on the local level, but industry leaders are recognizing his enthusiasm and new approach across the nation.
