As of September 14, 2010 the management and staff of The Wine Cellar are thrilled to announce that local owners have acquired the restaurant once again!
Local businessman Tom Power and his wife Patricia have purchased The Wine Cellar restaurant, along with the buildings at 313 and 315 Sherman Avenue downtown Coeur dAlene. The Powers have been regulars at the restaurant for the 14 years that they have lived in the area. Tom and Patricia have been loyal Wine Club members for over 12 years and with that intend to help re build the Wine Cellar and the Wine Club tothe levels of success that were achieved several years ago. The focus will be on expanding the current wine inventory and introduce new and exciting menu items for the restaurant and club.
We are pleased to be able to acquire the restaurant. The Wine Cellar has been a local icon for many years and it was important to us that it remains locally owned. We want to focus on building on the core principle that has made the Wine Cellar the success it is; by providing value to ourcustomers in a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
Both Tom and Patricia are pleased to now include in their SMI family, all the staff of The Wine Cellar, including Jim Duncan Wine Consultant, Mary Jay General Manager and Naomi Julian Business & Wine Club Manager. A special thanks to Rick Gunther of Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty for helping the process proceed smoothly.
Tom Power is the President and CEO of Sunshine Minting Inc., of Coeur dAlene with operations in Henderson, Nevada and Shanghai China. Additionally, the Power family owns and operates Power Audio/Video, a complete Home Theater Installation and Home Integration company in Post Falls. Sunshine Minting and the group of companies employ over 240 people in the Coeur dAlene area and have been listed in the Inc. Magazine top 5000 fastest growing private companies in the country for three years in a row.
The Wine Cellar is a downtown Coeur dAlene late night bistro with live Jazz and Blues played nightly by local artists.
The Mediterranean menu has a Northwest flair and is accompanied by an award-winning wine list.
