Yo! Well, as I sit here and type this, it is so hard to believe we are well on our way into the month of September! It feels like I was just turning the calendar to “Twenty Ten,” but now there are only 4 months left in this year - crazy!
Looking back on the last few months, life has been good! It was a crazy summer for sure - people were all over the place traveling, camping, working, summer school, and on and on and on. The things we did with our youth ministry were amazing. I had so much fun playing Ultimate Frisbee, hanging out on Wednesday nights, having bar-b-ques, watching people get tossed around by bulls, and building a park for our neighborhood! It was a good summer - it’s going to be tough to beat that one!
But, I’m starring into the eyes of the future right now, looking at all that we have planned in the coming days, weeks, and months for this youth ministry, and I am SO excited for the great times that I know we are all going to have! I am excited to walk through this life with you, to have conversations about life, love, and whatever else, to play games, to pray, to laugh, to cry, to go on trips, to watch you sing, dance, play an instrument, play sports, get your driver’s license - just to live life with you!
It is going to be an amazing school year. Myself, and a whole bunch of other really cool adult people, are here for you. We are here to love you, to help you, to encourage you, to pray for you, to be examples of Christ to you, and to serve along side you this school year as we make a difference together.
So, whether you have been a part of Upper Room Student Ministries for a long time, or whether you are stopping by the website for the first time to check us out, I hope you know that you have a place here and that you will be loved here.
We also hope you plan on making Upper Room Student Ministries a consistent part of your life this school year. With busy schedules, I know it can be easy to push church stuff aside, but I encourage you to make it a priority, to focus on spending quality time with us this year. Check out our weekly schedule and other cool things we are doing together over the coming months, and hopefully we’ll see you around very soon!

But on the other hand, we are stoked for another amazing school year with all of you! I know, I know, not everyone is excited about being back to school, but we are excited about moving into our fall activities around here and getting to hang out with you all doing some pretty cool things! In the coming weeks, browse our calendar for all the ministries, events and activities we have for YOU during the school year. We plan on having fun this year and we hope you join us! School is crazy, life can be confusing and crazy busy, but let us journey with you through all of that!
